![]() ![]() You might also consider transcoding your footage to ProRes: you can do this by selecting "Create optimised media" when importing your footage. FCP will NOT function correctly with drives formatted ExFAT or other schema. ![]() Secondly-and I stress this- the external drive MUST be formatted AFPS or at the very least HFS+. Events are one of the ways to organise your footage: an FCP Library can contain as many Events as you desire. You should really import material via the Import window (Command-I) where they are stored in an Event. You seem to be dragging them from the external drive straight onto the timeline. It's not entirely clear how you're bringing the material into FCP. The XT3 records either H264 or HEVC which FCP should handle fine. When I went back on, almost every clip in my timeline says "missing plugin." I don't have any plugins, though. Any help is so appreciated.Įdit: Update on the happenings. I'd like to edit this video, but frankly, I don't want to since the editor doesn't seem to work. I've imported the clips from an external hard drive where I keep all the photography work. The clips that play normally are fine and have audio.įor more information, I'm editing on a Macbook Pro M1 2020 with 16BG, so I don't see why there should be a problem. There's also no audio for these clips that show a black screen. Dragging and dropping the clips into my timeline works fine however, when I go to play them back, all I get is a black screen (for most of the clips). So, I've imported all the clips (taken on my Fuji XT3 3840 x 2160 / 29.97 fps) to my import folder. I'm pretty new to the software and trying to edit a short video of a hike I went on this summer for my family. ![]()
